Central Park is home to more than 26,000 trees--walking there last week I was swept away by the grandeur of the towering hardwoods and the textures of innumerable trunks.
Visitors to the Park assume that it is maintained by the city of New York but in fact, the Central Park Conservancy pays 85% of the maintenance costs. I think Central Park is one of America's most magnificent achievements. Consider joining the Conservancy and supporting these beautiful trees and the legacy of Vaux and Olmsted's remarkable 19th century creation.
Looking at all your recent posts. Looks like you had a great trip in Yellowstone and New York. I was happy to see Dave hiking. Beautiful here in the valley. More than usual amounts of rain has everything so green.
