I'm sharing more of my students' work today. To the left is Sooyoung Hwang's delightful sketch created a couple of weeks ago at Jennifer Carlson's garden. Sooyoung captured all the whimsy of this area of the garden, where Jennifer features different pots depending on what's blooming. Whenever an artist captures a scene, choices are made as to what is included and what is left out--I am really glad Sooyoung included the old toy dump truck!!
To the right is Harriet Herschel's joyful interpretation of a vase of tulips; here she managed to convey all the beauty of multi-colored pastel tulips in a decoratively glazed vase.
To the left is Sally Yeager's very own Himalayan Blue Poppy. A lifelong gardener, she has managed to keep this finicky plant happy (no mean feat!) and this year she was rewarded with a stunning bloom--she painted this striking portrait outdoors in her garden.
