Late last week we hiked at Snoqualmie Pass, expecting to make easy progress up the valley towards Source Lake, but spring had just arrived there, and our way was blocked by late-lingering snow in patches in the forest. The rewards were great, though, as we got to see the beauties of spring, yet again, trilliums, stream violets and loveliest of all, glacier lilies, the first alpine meadow flowers to bloom when mountain snows melt.
I have never seen glacier lilies: they looks so cute! We have tiger lilies in our area and I like them a lot. They bloom after trilliums.
