I'm exhibiting 2 works at the Sitka Art Invitational at the World Forestry Center in Portland, Oregon, this coming weekend. One of the pieces on display is this watercolor, Cascades Autumn, and the other is a block print hand-pressed with oil-based ink and hand-tinted with watercolor. Many other artists are participating and it is always a wonderful show. The exhibit takes place Saturday and Sunday, November 4 and 5th from 10am to 4pm with an opening night party on Friday. The work is all nature-inspired and includes over 400 works: sculpture, ceramics, paintings, metalwork, glass, drawings and prints. Art sales are shared 50/50 with the artists, and the event exists to support Sitka Center for Art & Ecology's workshop and residency programs. I've taught for Sitka for over 10 years--on Cascade Head between Lincoln City and Neskowin Beach, Oregon. I'm planning a 3 day workshop for Sitka which I hope to present this coming July. Details to be announced soon!
