If you couldn't make the opening, the art exhibit continues at the Elisabeth C. Miller Library, Center for Urban Horticulture at the University of Washington Botanic Gardens, 3501 NE 41st ST, Seattle. Through the month of December I'm showing framed and unframed original paintings and prints, and also selling my new book Colors of the West, plus many of the cards and calendars published by Pomegranate Communications.
I was thrilled this morning to open up the Northwest Traveler section of the Seattle Times and find editor Brian Cantwell's review of Colors of the West. I am honored by his praise for the book. A favorite quote from his review: "The subject matter is delightfully organized by hue...with landscapes and wildlife to match...in the orange chapter, three images of an awakening fox make you feel it stretching out the kinks." My thanks for that sketch must go to my Yellowstone hiking companions, who all shared that experience and many photos also!
Book events: Country Bookshelf, Bozeman, Montana, September 21, 6pm. Old Faithful Visitor Center, September 25, 11 to 3pm. Seattle Japanese Garden exhibit now through the end of September. Elisabeth C. Miller Library exhibit begins November 2.
